News Release - 11th December 2008 - easyFAIRS® Packtech 11th & 12th February 2009

ALLEN CODING EXHIBIT TO FEATURE NEWLY LAUNCHED ACF400 CARTON CODER

Allen Coding Systems will be highlighting a wide range of advanced coding and marking solutions for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and chemical industries at easyFAIRS® PACKTECH including the newly launched ACF400 compact carton coder. The exhibit will also feature the company’s popular 53LTi low cost intermittent thermal transfer printer; next generation LaserSYSTEM K-1010 Plus laser coder; innovative 55ssT combination intermittent and continuous thermal transfer printer; and 4ACC offline carton coder.

The newly launched Allen ACF 400 offline, intermittent carton coder is a compact unit specially designed to handle cartons, sleeves, blister cards, leaflets and cut labels, as well as complex pack designs. The adjustable feeder and position indicators ensure quick and simple changeover while speed, index length and batch quantity can be easily changed via the touch screen control. Depending on the substrate being used, it is capable of printing up to 600 cartons per minute.

Offering major cost and space saving benefits, Allen’s popular 53LTi thermal transfer printer enables users of traditional hot stamp equipment to upgrade to a more versatile system designed to easily print vital fixed and variable text and graphics. It is a two-component model offering many of the advanced features of more expensive machines including 300 dpi print resolution; cassette ribbon loading; 600-metre ribbon capacity; 53mm x 30mm print area with print speeds up to 250mm per second; and a best of breed print head.

Allen’s high-speed 55ssT thermal transfer printer incorporates a special software enabled ‘instant change’ option for switching from continuous to intermittent printing. Cutting-edge electronics ensure unrivalled responsiveness and fast performance with the unit producing up to 350 prints per minute and speeds up to 400mm per second in intermittent mode and 750mm per second when running continuously. In addition, the compact 55ssT offers a print area of 53mm x 80mm (intermittent) and 53mm x 125mm (continuous).

Allen’s advanced Laser SYSTEM K-1010 Plus (10 watt output) sets a new benchmark in laser coding performance. It can be used for static or dynamic coding on to a variety of substrate including plastics, varnished and anodised metal, glass, paper, and coated and printed cardboard. Easily operated by a touchscreen terminal or handheld device, the LaserSYSTEM incorporates a high speed marking head and Ethernet interface. In addition, by changing lenses, the marking area can be extended to 250mm x 250mm. The beam exit can be selected at either 0° or 90°.

The Allen 4ACC carton coder is ideal for overprinting directly onto cartons and sleeves and allows a hot foil coder to be fitted with a maximum print area up to 78mm by 45mm. Product is passed across the tabletop surface using an effective pusher plate system designed to position the carton under the coder where it is printed with a variety of formats before passing onto the outfeed system for collation.
